Friday, December 8, 2017, is the deadline for Twin Cities nonprofit arts organizations to apply for grants of up to $15,000 to provide ADA Access Improvements to their facilities or programs.
Both programs are administered by VSA Minnesota, and grant materials are available on this website or by mail, with assistance in person, by phone or email.
Emerging Artist Grants
Six Emerging Artist Grants of $2,000 each will be awarded in early 2018 to Minnesota artists with disabilities. Funded by the Jerome Foundation and administered by VSA Minnesota, the grants enable artists to create new work. Applications must include a work sample and can include an artist resume and statement of why you do your art. For more information or assistance, email firstname.lastname@example.org, or call 612-332-3888 or 800-801-3883. Recipients of 2016-17 Emerging Artist grants (listed on the VSA Minnesota website) are not eligible. Artists can receive help in filling out the information, or may be nominated by others who know their work.
ADA Access Improvement Grants
Nonprofit arts organizations in the seven-county Twin Cities area can apply by December 8, 2017, or May 1, 2018 for grants up to $15,000 to make significant or long-term improvements to facilities, programming or activities that offer potential to involve more people with disabilities as participants or patrons in arts programs. Grants up to $7,500 are available for shorter-term projects. VSA Minnesota provides these grants for the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council, with funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, which voters approved in 2008. For more information: 612-332-3888 or email@example.com. Grant guidelines can be downloaded at http://vsamn.org/arts-organizations/resources-organizations/.
