Mixed Blood’s response to the Mid-Term Election, PRESCIENT HARBINGERS, is three full-length plays (Gloria, Hooded and Hype Man), performed in rotating repertory, by African American provocateurs. They are glued together by an African American male prism, through contrast, and via Second Amendment violations.
GLORIA, by Branden Jacob-Jenkins (who wrote Neighbors and An Octoroon, previously produced at Mixed Blood), is a shocking, hilarious and spectacularly honest play set among the hyperambitious cubicle dwellers of a once-great magazine. Like journalism, it asks “What is crisis but an opportunity?” and “Who has the right to tell whose story and for how much money?” Every performance of "Gloria" will have English captions and audio description (live or recorded).
