Sat.-Sun., Jan. 20 - Feb. 11, 10 AM – 4 PM, 2018: Jan. 27-28: Youth and Family Weekend. Feb. 3-4: All Access Weekend. Feb. 10-11: Final Weekend.

Curious locals, regional artists and thousands of visitors brave snow and wind to celebrate a uniquely Minnesotan festival on the frozen surface of Lake Harriet. Creative structures, lively performances with audience participation encouraged. Art Shanty Projects has made concerted efforts to expand access and create a more inclusive program for people of all abilities. The All Access Weekend includes 30-minute Audio Described (Sun.) and ASL Interpreted (Sat.) tours of Shanty Village at the top of each hour. Kick-sleds and wheelchair sleds are available to assist with transportation to, around, and within the shanty village. Extra volunteers are available for visitors seeking mobility assistance on ice. Free admission to this uniquely Minnesotan festival eliminates financial barriers to participation. Website lists daily activities on each weekend.

Interpreted tours begin by the Information Bar in the upper lobby on the first Sunday of the month at 1:00, except as noted differently. Other interpreted tours and memory loss tours can be scheduled through Mia’s Visitor Experience office.
