By Minoru Betsuyaku, directed by K.Kiyama.
Comedy. What would happen if Godot, that mysterious unseen character in Samuel Beckett’s Waiting for Godot, actually turned up? Written as homage to Beckett, this comic, often slapstick, sequel is performed in Japanese (with English translations projected above the stage). This innovative work by one of the leading contemporary playwrights in Japanese theatre, originated in Tokyo won critical acclaim while playing Oslo, Paris, Berlin, Dublin, and Eastern Europe. University’s Theatre brings it to Minneapolis/St. Paul--one of only three venues-- on the company’s exclusive American tour.
