About the Show
July 26, 2018
This event in Discovery Hall is a collaboration of many disability organizations, marking the 28th anniversary of signing the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) of 1990. Festivities in Discovery Hall include a keynote address by Marya Hornbacher (http://www.maryahornbacher.com/), a Minneapolis based award-winning writer, journalist, teacher and lecturer. Other speakers and entertainers include Adina Burke (https://www.facebook.com/adina.burkewriting/), who uses storytelling through spoken word poetry and punk music, and Sam Miltich and Friends (https://www.sammiltichmusic.com/projects/), who will highlight cultural contributions of famous artists with mental illness and inspiring hope through Sam’s own story and original compositions. Free admission to the Science Museum for ADA attendees will include its exhibit Mental Health: Mind Matters (https://www.smm.org/mindmatters). Parking and admission to the Omnitheater’s current show “Dream Big” are NOT provided.
