About the Show
90 minutes, March 15, 2018
How do cultural organizations learn if their plans to be inclusive and accessible are actually what the disability community needs? What makes an Access Advisory Committee successful? What pitfalls should be avoided or ideas replicated? The presentation about getting input from advisors with disabilities is geared to cultural organization staffs who want to improve their accessibility. A panel, moderated by Maren Levad of the Minnesota Historical Society, includes: Jenea Rewertz-Targui of the Ordway Theater, Jessica Ryan of the Minnesota Orchestra, consultant Stephanie Cunningham, and Kaitlyn Mielke of ThinkSelf, a Deaf adult education and advocacy organization.
