ADA Access Improvement Grants are available to nonprofit arts organizations to help make arts facilities, programming and activities in the seven-county Twin Cities area more accessible to people with disabilities. The program is administered by VSA Minnesota for the Metropolitan Regional Arts Council (MRAC), with funding from the Minnesota Arts and Cultural Heritage Fund, which voters approved in 2008.
Projects with potential for significant or long-term improvements may apply for up to $15,000; shorter-term projects may receive up to $7,500. Over the past nine years $1,623,000 has been awarded to 140 projects conducted by 70 organizations. This year $160,000 is available.
Applications submitted by December 14, 2018, will be reviewed Friday, January 18, 2019, between 10 AM and 2 PM at the Cowles Center for Dance, room 210, 516 Hennepin Ave., Minneapolis.
