2018 Minnesota Fringe Festival applications due Feb. 16

Applications to the 2018 Minnesota Fringe Festival are open until February 16 at 5:00 PM. The selection lottery will be Feb. 26 at Bryant Lake Bowl. Changes for the 25th Anniversary year include:
* Festival venues will be in Minneapolis on the West Bank and Northeast. Fringe won’t be in Uptown venues (Bryant Lake Bowl, HUGE, Jungle, Intermedia Arts, Phoenix), but partnerships at other times will maintain those relationships.
* A new Minnesota Family Fringe will launch in Saint Paul’s Creative Enterprise Zone featuring adventurous performances for kids and multigenerational audiences. Family Fringe is a separate, juried festival taking place over the weekends of August 2-5 and 9-12. There is no fee to apply to Family Fringe. The same company can apply for, and be produced in, the Fringe Festival and Family Fringe, but a company must apply with a separate show for each festival.
* Single tickets are back. (This year’s daypass system will still be an option.)
* A producer/company may apply to up to three tiers — based on capacity, and including Bring-Your-Own-Venue — but can produce only one show in the festival.
* A Touring Artist Initiative will reserve the first 10% of Festival slots specifically for national, international and Minnesotan artists coming from outside the 11-county metro area.
